Guerrilla Games has announced that Angie Smets, studio director and executive producer for the Sony-owned company has departed, and casually confirmed that a third Horizon game is on the way as part of the announcement.
As part of the shift in management, Joel Eschler, Hella Schmidt, and Jan-Bart van Beek will be heading up Guerrilla Games, and it’s here that we seemingly have confirmation that Horizon will be getting a third game.
We have full confidence in our new leadership as they steer Guerrilla towards a bright future, expanding the world of Horizon with Aloy’s next adventure and our exciting online project.
Horizon Forbidden West was released in February 2022 for PS4 & PS5, and received an expansion, Burning Shores, last week. Guerrilla Games is reportedly looking to expand the franchise with the addition of a multiplayer spin-off, although we’ve yet to see anything on that project.
Elsewhere, it was also rumored that an Horizon Zero Dawn PS5 remaster is in the works, but Guerrilla Games is allegedly not behind the game.
