The developer behind the upcoming PlayStation 4-exclusive action title, Horizon: Zero Dawn, has said it doesn’t plan on revealing too much about its hotly anticipated title prior to release.
Speaking during an interview with PlayM.de, the game’s Senior Producer, Mark Norris, said that the Amsterdam-based studio wants players to discover some of the game’s more finer details for themselves.
“You will know everything about the Old Ones and you will also find out where the machines are and why. You will also learn about the relationship between Aloy and the machine. But I’m not going to say anything about it in advance. Players should experience it all themselves and find out,” said Norris.
This marketing approach is in strike contrast to many high-profile software releases, where publishers are typically known for unleashing all manner of details about a game prior to its launch.
In fact, Morris gave an example of this with the Fallout franchise:
"There isn’t a greater Fallout fan than me, I always talk a lot about Vault-111 and I even have a Vault 111-Hoodie. And they have showed in the trailer when the bomb struck. And I said, no, why did you do that? You ruined the whole mystery for me that Fallout always had,” he said.
Horizon: Zero Dawn is due out on PS4 in 2016.
