Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (SCEE) has unveiled the In-ear Stereo Headset for the PlayStation 4, confirming the new device will go on sale in time for Christmas priced at £77.99/€89.99.
So, what exactly do you get for your hard-earned cash? For starters, the headset restricts any unwanted sound around the wearer, meaning you can go about your business—whether that be gaming or embarking on your daily commute—are trouble-free thanks to the AudioShield feature.
This feature packs 15 hours of rechargeable battery life, and can be charge easily via the USB cable included in the box. There’s also a built-in microphone for all your PS4 chatting needs, and you can also use it for taking calls on your mobile phone and tablet. Complementing the headset’s array of features is a mute switch, in-line call button, and volume control.
Sony’s latest headset will plug directly into your DualShock 4 PS4 controller and other standard headphone sockets, allowing you to utilise it with multiple devices outside of your gaming needs. It supports 13mm speakers to facilitate a deep bass audio experience, and features small, medium, and large interchangeable ear-tips. In addition, those of you who are on the go a lot can rest easy that the device is lightweight and portable, offering an unobtrusive, blue woven fabric cable and pouch for storing the headset in when not in use.
Sony has confirmed a December 4 release date for the new headset in the U.K. and Ireland, with the device hitting Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Middle East, and Africa from December 9. Check out the In-ear Stereo Headset in action in the video below.
