Hydrophobia still coming to PS3, is not 360 exclusive

Dark Energy Digital head honcho Pete Jones has moved to clarify reports suggesting that the company’s upcoming Hydrophobia is an Xbox 360 exclusive, stating the game will in fact arrive on PSN and PC later down the line.

As you might have already guessed, the game is in fact only a timed-exclusive to Microsoft’s platform, and will arrive on Sony’s console as well as PC some time after, though an exact release date has yet to be decided.

However, the 360 will get an exclusive boxed copy release, with PS3 owners only able to purchase the game in digital form.

For those unaware, Hydrophobia takes the form of an episodic survival/adventure romp, featuring fully interactive environments and highly sophisticated water dynamics.

According to designer Rob Hewson, "player versus environment is certainly a large part of the experience, the wonderful thing about water is that it is constantly affecting every area of the environment, so you get incredible amounts of emergent behaviour. The player constantly has to adapt to the environment and react quickly because doors, walls and windows are going to cave in differently each time according to the distribution of water."

Sounds like a winner to us. Stay tuned for more information as we get it.
