Insomniac Games has heaped praise on its dedicated engine team, believing they have a better grasp of the PlayStation 3’s architecture than any other studio in the business.
Speaking to the chaps at EGM, Insomniac head honcho Ted Price commented, "First and foremost, I think we have a world-class engine team.”
"In particular, they focus heavily on using the PS3′s SPUs more effectively (in my opinion) than anyone else in the business."
Elsewhere, Price also touched on the game engine employed by Insomniac for PS3 launch title Resistance: Fall of Man, revealing the studio went back and tinkered with it some more allowing it to squeeze out some improvements in the visual and audio department for later releases.
"However, we spent a lot of time going back and reworking systems we had just barely finished in time for the PS3 launch," he said.
"Basically everything got a facelift and it allowed us to do more with our visuals, audio and gameplay."
Insomniac is currently working on a new IP for multiple platforms, as well as PS3-exclusive titles Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One and Resistance 3.
