“Iron” Mike Tyson hammers his way into EA Sports UFC 2 as a pre-order bonus

EA has unveiled none other than “Iron” Mike Tyson as the third pre-order fighter that players will get for pre-ordering EA Sports UFC 2.

Previously, MMA legends Bas Rutten and Kazushi Sakuraba had been confirmed as the first two fighters that would be available to those who pre-order the game. Interestingly, the trailer seems to show different versions of the legendary heavyweight boxer, providing glimpses of a rookie Mike Tyson in addition to the facially tattooed slugger that we now know today. Whether these other iterations of Mr. Tyson end up being just different skins or totally different fighters altogether remains to be seen.

For those who might scoff at the very notion of a boxer being included in a videogame about mixed martial arts, it’s worth remembering that there is actually a real-life precedent for this. Back in January 2010, the UFC had heavyweight boxer James Toney take part in an MMA bout with cagefighting virtuoso Randy Couture. Toney would go on to lose that fight via submission in the first round and wouldn’t dabble in MMA waters again.

Reckon you can do better as “Iron” Mike Tyson? EA Sports UFC 2 releases on PS4 on March 17, so you won’t have long before you find out. In the meantime though, feast your eyes on the Mike Tyson announcement trailer below.
