Is Death Stranding coming to PS5? Kojima Productions‘ action-adventure game, starring Norman Reedus, arrived for PS4 last November and made its way to the PC with extra content earlier this year. However, a lot of folk are wondering if a Death Stranding PS5 release is on the cards, presumably also featuring some notable performance upgrades.
While the game is obviously playable via backwards compatibility, is a Death Stranding PS5 version on the horizon? Let’s find out!
Death Stranding PS5 – Is It Happening?
Kojima Productions has made no announcement about releasing Death Stranding for the PS5 as its own standalone release. However, the studio’s technical director, Akio Sakamoto, said that the company may look into a PS5 version of the game during a chat with Digital Foundry back in July.
Right now, we are really focused on the PC version of Death Stranding, so we can’t really say anything for the PS5. But once we take a little breath after launching the PC version, we would surely like to look into it deeper, and hope to let everyone know once we come to some decisions.
What Is Death Stranding?
Death Stranding is the first title developed by Kojima Productions following its formation in 2015, after designer Hideo Kojima departed Konami. Here’s the official blurb:
From legendary game creator Hideo Kojima comes an all-new, genre-defying experience. Sam Bridges must brave a world utterly transformed by the Death Stranding. Carrying the disconnected remnants of our future in his hands, he embarks on a journey to reconnect the shattered world one step at a time. Starring Norman Reedus, Mads Mikkelsen, Léa Seydoux, and Lindsay Wagner.
