In a characteristically spontaneous bit of videoblogging, former God of War Director David Jaffe has revealed that the God of War III trailer which will premiere at this year’s Video Game Awards is not the one he gushed over back in November.
The key snippet pops up at the 7:10 mark. "I know what they’re putting on Spike TV, and I saw that and it looks great, fantastic," Jaffe observes. "That’s not what I saw that [I’ve been] talking about though."
"It’s not my space to talk about the Spike TV thing," he goes on. "It looks great, awesome. But the thing that I’m talking about when I said "Oh my god, it looks like a painting" – I was talking about something different.
"I’m not working on the game, there’s stuff I don’t know about the game. It’s not my place to comment on specifics. The only thing I wanted to mention was just so that when this thing airs on Spike TV, it’s going to look great – it already looks great. But that – just to be clear – that is not what I’m talking about."
Jaffe goes on to drop a few other insider revelations… except he doesn’t. "Now the sugar has rushed from my head, I’m kind of crashing. So I’m going to go to work – I will see you guys later. Bye."
