James Cordon Hired By Activision To Host Employee Meeting With Bobby Kotick

Gavin and Stacey star and former ‘The Late, Late Show With…’ host James Cordon was snapped up by Activision recently to host an employee meeting with Bobby Kotick. Yes, Kotick and Cordon in the same room, folks!

Held yesterday ahead of the expected closure of Microsoft’s proposed acquisition of the Call of Duty mega-publisher, the meeting reportedly found Kotick looking back on Activision’s journey as a company and name-dropped the Guitar Hero franchise while hinting at the company’s future plans.

Cordon asked how Activision will aim to maintain its company culture under the Microsoft umbrella, which Kotick replied to saying the studio has a “magic” and “special” culture, which is what attracted Microsoft in the first place.

Speaking on the future, Kotick mentioned devices such as the Neuralink from Elon Musk as an example of the technology that will push the industry forward.

I think you’ll see things like Neuralink – you’ll actually be able to interact with things on the screen, where there isn’t a controller. The re-emergence of Guitar Hero and other things would not be possible without the different types of resources.
