Japan: 3G PS Vita more popular than Wi-Fi at launch

Media Create reports (via Andriasang) that the 3G edition of PlayStation Vita proved more popular with consumers during the handheld’s Japanese launch.

Sony’s new portable launched in the region on December 17, with the 3G model outselling its Wi-Fi counterpart in the three weeks before Christmas.

However, since then, sales between the 3G and Wi-Fi versions have narrowed somewhat, with the former still slightly in front.

PS Vita launched in the U.S. and U.K. last week, with 79% of all hardware sold belonging to the Wi-Fi model.
