Nintendo has muscled in on the Japanese charts this week with New Super Mario Bros. 2, taking not only pole position on the software chart but also sending sales of the 3DS through the roof.
The portable games console sold a massive 235,974 units, leaving little room for Sony to manoeuvre. Still, it wasn’t all doom and gloom; both PS3 and PSP experienced a slight sales boost, though PS Vita dipped below the 10k mark again.
In terms of software, while Nintendo’s portly plumber claimed the top spot, Persona 4 Arena on PS3 and PSP outing Nayuta no Kiseki managed to hold firm in second and third place, respectively.
