The results have finally been tallied and Japan has released the award winners for the 2008 PlayStation Awards. The way this award ceremony works is quite simple. Depending on how many sales a title has reached, determines which award it shall receive. We’ll give you the list of awards below.
Gold Award: 500,000 to 1,000,000 sales.
Platinum Award: 1,000,000 to 2,000,000 sales.
Double Platinum Award: 2,000,000 to 3,000,000 sales.
Of course, there were no recipients of the Platinum Award in Japan this year. However, considering October and November were the biggest months for gaming this time around, it isn’t that surprising that sales weren’t able to accumulate quickly enough. We’ve included the list of winners below.
Gold Award
– Metal Gear Solid 4 PS3
– Crisis Core -Final Fantasy VII- PSP
– Phantasy Star Portable PSP
– Winning Eleven 2008 PS2
– Super Robot Taisen Z PS2
Double Platinum Winner
– Monster Hunter Portable 2nd G PSP
Congratulations to all winning developers and publishers. We look forward to seeing who brings home the awards next year for bagging the most sales.
