Crystal Dynamics has released a new trailer for Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the franchise, which for those who aren’t up on their Lara Croft history, officially took place on October 24. On that date back in 1996, the first Tomb Raider launched in Europe for the Sega Saturn, arriving on PC and PlayStation the following month.
Check out the trailer below.
Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis is a full reimagining of the classic 1996 adventure game, and sees Lara Croft setting off on a globetrotting hunt for the mythical Scion, an artefact related to the lost continent of Atlantis. While the basic narrative and setting remains the same, Legacy of Atlantis introduces a number of extra mechanics not present in the original game, such as a grappling hook to aid in navigation, a scanner device to uncover key lore and identify clues, and a ‘Focus’ ability allowing players to slow down time during combat.
Crystal Dynamics and Flying Wild Hog will release Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis for PS5, PC, Nintendo Switch 2, and Xbox Series X/S on February 12, 2027.
