Japan: PSP’s Gundam steals the show

PlayStation Portable title SD Gundam Generation Overworld has broken into the Japanese software charts in first place, proof enough that there’s still life left in Sony’s aging pocket brick.

The Namco Bandai title moved over 200,000 units in its first week, holding off competition from brawler Dead or Alive 5 on PlayStation 3, which sold 66,586 units.

Also debuting inside the Top Ten is the PS3 version of Sleeping Dogs and Earth Defense Force 2017 Portable Double Pack on PlayStation Vita.

Speaking of PS Vita, Sony’s new handheld is nearing the one million sales milestone in its native territory, having sold 995,548 units since its release in December last year.
