Japanese charts: 360 outsells PS3 again, PSP in lead

The PlayStation 3 hasn’t exactly been on tip-top form in Japan these past few weeks, but the latest Media Create figures (week ending October 26) are especially dismal. For the first time in its life, Sony’s much-maligned monster machine has dipped below 4,000 units sold.

The Xbox 360 once again outsold its rival, but to be honest neither high definition console has much to crow about – the Wii outmatched the pair of them twice over.

Sony can at least seek consolation in the continued mammoth success of the PlayStation Portable, which dipped dramatically from last week’s PSP-3000-fuelled high but still almost managed to outsell every other console combined.

Here’s the full list (thanks VG247):

PSP – 60,467
Wii – 24,292
DS – 22,965
Xbox 360 – 7,844
PS2 – 6,962
PS3 – 3,931
