Harry Potter star Jason Isaacs has reported been snapped up for Amazon Prime’s upcoming live-action Tomb Raider series, according to a report on Deadline.
The outlet claims that Isaacs has taken on an as-yet unknown role in the Tomb Raider series, which is set to feature Sophie Turner as Lara Croft. As previously reported, Alien star Sigourney Weaver is apparently in talks to join the cast. Production on the show is set to begin on January 19, 2026.
Actress and writer Phoebe Waller-Bridge is serving as co-showrunner and executive producer on the Tomb Raider series, and is joined by Jonathan Van Tulleken and Chad Hodge. No further details are available yet, but Story Kitchen has said on its official website that the series will “reinvent the franchise on a massive scale.”
The Tomb Raider video game series is set to receive a major revamp in 2026 with the release of Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis, a full reimagining of the original 1996 Lara Croft adventure. This will be followed in 2027 by a brand new instalment, Tomb Raider: Catalyst.
