A report on Deadline has claimed that Alien star Sigourney Weaver has entered talks to feature in the live-action Tomb Raider series, which is being helmed by actress and writer Phoebe Waller-Bridge.
Nothing has been finalised yet according to the Deadline report, and there’s no details what character that Weaver will portray if she lands the role. The Tomb Raider live-action series will be made available on Amazon Prime, and is set to feature Sophie Turner of X-Men: Apocalypse and Game of Thrones fame as Lara Croft. Martin Bobb-Semple is also going to have a major role in the production.

Filming for the Tomb Raider live-action series is set to kick off in January 2026, and in addition to Waller-Bridge serving as co-showrunner and executive producer, will feature Jonathan Van Tulleken (director, executive producer) and Chad Hodge (co-showrunner and executive producer).
There’s no word yet on when the Tomb Raider series is expected to release, but Story Kitchen revealed in an updated post on its website that it will “reinvent the franchise on a massive scale,” while interconnecting the “new live-action television series and video games into a unified storytelling universe.
