Journey composer is working on Assassin’s Creed Syndicate soundtrack

Ubisoft has announced that the composer behind the highly acclaimed Journey, Austin Wintory, is working on the next instalment in the multi-million selling Assassin’s Creed franchise.

Wintory is providing the score for the upcoming title, based in Victorian London, having described himself as a "long-time player of the franchise." The Grammy-nominated composer has already penned over three hours worth of music for the game.

Said Wintory, during a chat on the Ubiblog: "Culturally we’re seeing a lot of growth, and therefore also the attendant growth pains. The industry is struggling with identity right now, and inclusiveness, but I am hopeful that our tent is widening, and our creativity deepening. And I’m happy to say that I don’t believe that hope is based on purely wishful thinking either. I see inspiring people working in every corner, from Ubisoft to the smallest indies."

Assassin’s Creed Syndicate is due out on PlayStation 4, PC and Xbox One in October. Check out the latest trailer here.
