Journey producer leaves Thatgamecompany

Robin Hunicke, producer on Thatgamecompany’s Journey, has confirmed she has left the studio to join up with Tiny Speck.

Hunicke’s departure comes hot on the heels of co-founder Kelle Santiago’s announcement that she had left the company yesterday.

Writing on her blog, Hunicke commented: “It would take quite a long time to tell you all about the delightful people who I met that day. And even longer to explain all our wonderful conversations we had about Glitch and what it means to them.”

“But let it be known that they charmed me completely.”

“When they told me they had an office in San Francisco, where folks were joining up to imagine new fun for Glitch, well, I must admit I swooned.”

Hunicke previously worked at Electronic Arts and her role at Tiny Speck will see her “providing leadership in game design,” which also reunites her with Justin Quimby, a former co-worker from EA maxis.

Thatgamecompany released Journey earlier this month to critical and commercial success, with the Sony-exclusive adventure game becoming the fastest-selling PSN title in the U.S. and Europe to date.
