Ken Levine says BioShock movie isn’t dead

BioShock creator Ken Levine has revealed that the planned movie adaptation of the acclaimed shooter isn’t dead in the water.

Quizzed by EDGE if the film was dead or not following a number of hiccups throughout production, Levine replied:

"The thing with Gore [Verbinski] didn’t work out, but there’s no such thing as ‘it’s finished’ when it comes to making a movie out of something.”

"It’s always about the stars aligning. We’re still focussing on it, but it hasn’t consumed us so much."

Despite this, the Irrational Games boss added that “right now, we’re choosing our battles and focusing on making BioShock: Infinite.”

The BioShock film has found itself in a spot of bother over the past few years, having been plagued by various logistical issues since its announcement in 2008. Most recently, it was revealed that director Juan Carlos Fresnadillo had backed out of the project.

BioShock: Infinite is scheduled to ship for PlayStation 3, PC and Xbox 360 in October 2012. The PS3 version of the game will feature support for Sony’s PlayStation Move controller, though details of its implementation are being kept under wraps for now.
