The U.S. PlayStation Blog has announced that Kerbal Space Program (KSP) will launch on PlayStation 4 tomorrow, July 12.

Hailed for its attention to realism and detail, KSP is ideal for anyone with a penchant for open-world games, flight simulators, and space travel.

The game sees players put in charge of a space program for a race of aliens known as The Kerbals, who require you to cobble together spaceships, rockets, and vehicles capable of taking off and maintaining their safety when travelling through space.

  • Flying is fun and easy thanks to the DualShock 4, allowing you to use the triggers and sticks on the pad to pilot your vessel. A precise analogue experience  will allow you to unlock advanced manoeuvres at the drop of a hat.
  • Players have a large collection of tools at their disposal, each one possessing a unique functionality that will affect your ship and its chances of taking off or crashing down to earth.
  • Three game modes are on offer. Sandbox Mode lets you go wild and build anything your imagination comes up with; Science Mode allows you to conduct scientific experiments and improve the Kerbals’ knowledge to unlock new tech; and finally, Career Mode gives you full control of the space program, such as crew management, reputation building, and side missions.
