As a sort of preamble before the big E3 ruckus that is Sony’s upcoming press conference, it’s been confirmed that the upcoming brawler Knack 2 will release on September 5 on PS4.
Speaking to PlayStation’s Sid Shuman, PS4’s system architect Mark Cerny – the mind behind Spyro the Dragon and of course the original Knack – confirmed the news just before a new trailer aired on PlayStation’s pre-E3 show and also mentioned that the game will retail at a reduced price of $39.99.
Given the tepid critical reception to the original, which was a launch title for the PS4, it’s a pretty shrewd move, even if initial previews of the game have been wholly positive. The lower price point certainly worked for the likes of Ratchet & Clank, and with Knack 2’s primary focus being on couch co-op this could be a cheap, effective option for the whole family.
All thing’s considered, we haven’t got long to wait for its release, so in the mean time check out the trailer below.
