Kojima Productions removed from Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain box

Konami has removed all reference to Kojima Productions and the FOX Engine from Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain’s boxart.

The news comes in light of Hideo Kojima’s reported falling out with Konami chiefs in Japan, with the latest reports claiming that Kojima-san will depart the publisher and developer once he has completed work on The Phantom Pain. Konami has also said it aims to continue the Metal Gear series going forward.

Previously, all reference to Kojima-san’s studio were removed from packaging art for previous Metal Gear Solid titles, as well as the website for Silent Hills. Kojima-san’s personal Twitter has also gone quiet since the rumors surfaced.

Recently, voice actress and singer-songwriter, Donna Burke, claimed that Kojima-san was fired from Konami, although the company has outrigh denied this to be the case.

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is due out worldwide on September 1, 2015 for PS4, PS3, PC, Xbox One, and Xbox 360.
