Legendary developer Hideo Kojima has let slip that the teams working on both Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker and Metal Gear Solid: Rising aren’t exactly the best of friends.
Speaking to GamePro at GamesCom last month, the Kojima Productions boss attributes this to the fact the team behind Rising has ample resource at its disposal, including high-end technology and hardware specifications.
“That’s the one reason why they are not good friends,” he said. “If you could imagine the PSP team looking at the Rising team, they have all the money and specs. It’s interesting for me to see the team members act in this way.”
“This was never before because it was always just one small team. Now we are much bigger.”
Kojima-san has previously said his involvement in Rising will be limited, instead focusing on the PSP entry Peace Walker, which takes place a decade after the events of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. Details on Rising are largely unknown at this point, aside from the fact it’ll star Raiden. More as it breaks.
