AI KRAFTON Krafton Voluntary Resignation Program News PS5

Krafton Has Launched Its Voluntary Resignation Program For Staff As Part Of Transition To ‘AI First Company’

A report on Business Korea has revealed that video game publishing behemoth Krafton has launched its voluntary resignation program for its employees, which comes on the back of record-breaking profits during its third financial quarter.

This initiative ensures that employees at Krafton who opt to resign from the company will be eligible for special severance packages, with reports claiming this ranges from six to 36 months wages depending on how many years an employee has served with the publisher. Rather than being a layoff plan meant to reduce its workforce, Krafton stated that the program designed “to support members proactively designing their growth direction and embarking on new challenges both inside and outside the company amid the era of AI transformation.”

Elsewhere, Krafton revealed that it has put on hold the hiring of new staff in areas unrelated to AI, having previously revealed in October that it would invest around $70 million into a GPU cluster that will act as the foundation of its agentic AI.

Back in August 2024, Krafton announced that it had acquired The Evil Within and Hi-Fi Rush developer Tango Gameworks, who were previously owned by Microsoft. The following month, it stated its decision to snap up the studio was to preserve its legacy, despite stating that Tango ‘did not have a big success in their games.’
