LA Noire trailer teases PS4 release in glorious 4K resolution

Rockstar Games has released a new LA Noire trailer teasing the upcoming PlayStation 4 re-release of the celebrated detective-’em-up.

The trailer is presented in stunning 4K resolution and features action-packed snippets of Cole Phelps’ gritty crime adventure.

We’re given shots of Phelps capping enemies, interrogating suspects, and getting into high-speed car chases as he attempts to bring to justice the lowlife that inhabit the seedy backstreets of the City of Angels.

LA Noire is due for release on PS4, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox One on November 14, 2017.

Set in post-war 1940s during the film noir era, and sees players controlling Cole Phelps, a member of the Los Angeles Police Department who gamers follow as he rises through various desks in the department, starting as a uniformed officer and eventually progressing to Traffic, Homicide, and more.

Originally released on PS3 and Xbox 360 back in 2011, the detective thriller sees a number of improvements on Sony’s flagships console.

Chiefly, players can experience the game in 4K resolution on PS4 Pro, as well as enjoying enhanced lighting, cloud effects, and high resolution textures of up to 1080p on a standard TV.

In addition, LA Noire on PS4 will also come packaged with all existing downloadable content, offering several hours worth of extra gameplay outside of the main campaign.

The original release of LA Noire was met with widespread critical acclaim, with particular praise aimed at then-innovative MotionScan technology.

Utilising this tech, developer Team Bondi were able to meticulously recreate an actor’s facial expressions, which players were then able to scrutinize in-game to detect whether a character was lying or telling the truth when being interrogated.
