Taiwan’s rating board has posted up a listing for a PS4 and PS5 re-release of Legacy of Kain: Defiance, suggesting the game will soon becoming to the PS Plus Game Catalog’s Classics range.
Developed by Crystal Dynamics, Legacy of Kain Defiance was directed by future Uncharted legend Amy Hennig, and was released for PS2, Xbox, and PC in 2003. Legacy of Kain Defiance is the only entry in the franchise that features both Raziel and Kain are playable characters, with Kain possessing the the material Reaver and Raziel wielding the Reaver’s spectral form and elemental reavers.

Legacy of Kain: Defiance picks up following the events of Soul Reaver 2, where Raziels’ life is saved by Kain by drawing the Soul Reaver from him. As Raziel was supposed to enter the blade and come its soul-devouring spectral half, this causes a time paradox that alters Nosgoth’s history for the worse, separating Kain and Raziel in the process. Players begin the game as Kain but will take control of Raziel at various intervals before alternating between both characters.
Expect an announcement about Legacy of Kain Defiance joining the PS Plus Catalog in the near future.
