Hideaki Itsuno, the director on Dragon’s Dogma 2 and now head of LightSpeed Studio Japan, has revealed that work on his next project has already kicked off.
The Devil May Cry 5 director announced in August 2024 that he had decided to leave Capcom after more than 30 years with the Resident Evil creator, where he worked on a number of major franchises and most recently headed up Dragon’s Dogma 2 last year.
A new project has already started. We will do our best to announce it to everyone as soon as possible. We are also looking for people to join us in developing the game!

Itsuno-san was announced as heading up LightSpeed Japan Studio back in November 2024, with the following statement:
LightSpeed Japan Studio will be led by the legendary game director Hideaki Itsuno. Born in Osaka, Itsuno is the former Capcom veteran, where he not only planned the Street Fighter Alpha series, but also directed iconic franchises series such as Rival Schools, Power Stone, Capcom VS. SNK, Devil May Cry, and Dragon’s Dogma.
