LittleBigPlanet coming to UK in September? [UPDATE]

Sony’s unique title, LittleBigPlanet, is one of the company’s most anticipated games of the upcoming year and Sony will make every effort to get it out to the UK by September.

After showcasing the game for the first time at last year’s Game Developer’s Conference, the game raised a lot of eyebrows and instantly raised the curiosity of PS3 followers and skeptics. The game is mostly physics-based and will rely heavily on user-created content to drive it. Adding to the community aspect of the game, LittleBigPlanet will allow users to share levels with other players as well as working cooperatively to accomplsh certain mission throughout the game.

LittleBigPlanet is currently being developed by UK based Media Molecule. Every time the game has been showcased at any game show, it has instantly been made one of the most anticipated titles of the year for Sony, and hopefully one of the system’s killer app’s.

The September release date strikes as a little later than most had hoped for (originally it had been speculated that it would be released in the first quarter of 2008). The title now gives PS3 owners something to look forward to towards the end of the year.

UPDATE:

CVG has confirmed this as true, and the game is indeed targeted for release in the UK this September.
