Live-Action Pac-Man Movie Announced With Sonic Movie Producer Behind It

A new report from The Hollywood Reporter reveals that a live-action Pac-Man movie is in the works, and what’s more is that the film is based on an original idea from Chuck Williams, producer behind the Sonic The Hedgehog film.

The movie will be produced with Bandai Namco and Wayfarer Studios behind it, with Williams’ also working as a producer through his studio Lightbeam.

That’s about all we know for now, and the report has yet to be corroborated by Bandai Namco. What we can say for sure is that it’s an interesting experiment to consider what this movie will be.

With the surge of video-game related films and tv series coming ever since the first Sonic film became a hit, gamers are going to suddenly be overwhelmed with seeing their favourite games in different mediums.

Before Sonic, the idea that so much time and money would be invested into making movies about video games felt ludicrous, if only because of the poor quality of previous attempts at making a movie or show based off a game.

Now, all of that has clearly changed, and a whole new vertical for movies has opened up.
