Much like the FIFA 21 PS5 upgrade, EA Sports has given an early launch to the next-generation upgrade of Madden NFL 21, although there’s a bit of a disappointment in store if you’re playing on Sony’s new home console.
Madden NFL 21 PS5 Upgrade Comes Without Online Play
One again the Dual Entitlement initiative allows PS4 and Xbox One owners of the game to freely migrate to the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S version, and it comes one day earlier than intended. However, the PS5 version does not feature online play at launch, which according to EA Tiburon, is due to an issue discovered with Madden NFL 21 during the final testing phase.
The issue in question only kicks into gear when the PS5 version of the title connects to the EA servers, hence why the game’s online functionality remains turned off for the time being.
Madden NLF 21 was released for PS4, PC and Xbox One on August 28, and you can now upgrade to the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S version free if you own the last-generation edition. You can read our review of the PS4 version of Madden NFL 21 here.
