Hangar 13 has announced that it will released a new update for Mafia: The Old Country today, known as Free Ride, which will add a variety of new content for players to jump into, including high stakes car & horse races.
In addition to the races, Mafia: The Old Country will add a variety of new combat and stealth challenges, a classic difficulty, freeform open world exploration, plus additional cars, outfits, weapons and charms. Meanwhile, the Valle Dorata will be packed with new secrets to uncover, as well as a first-person driving mode and Photo Mode now accessible to players.

Free Ride is a callback to the original Mafia’s Free Ride Extreme, as well as the Free Ride mode we shipped in Mafia: Definitive Edition. It’s a collection of Challenges separate from the main story that give players chances to revisit the world in a more self-guided way. Mafia: The Old Country’s Free Ride mode will be slightly different from previous titles, yet familiar to returning fans all the same.
Mafia: The Old Country was released for PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S in August 2025, and Take-Two announced during its latest financial results earlier this month that the game had surpassed the publisher’s internal expectations. You can read our full review here.
