Developer Gazillion has unveiled a new action heroes game on the PlayStation Blog known as Marvel Heroes Omega, which is coming to PS4 and Xbox One this year.
The game plucks inspiration from action-RPGs and MMOs, offering what the developer describes as a ‘unique blend of non-stop action and near limitless progression.” The game will combine a variety of iconic characters, including Spider-Man, the Avengers, the Defenders, the Inhumans, the X-Men, the Guardians of the Galaxy, and many more.
Gazillion confirmed that the Marvel Heroes Omega release date is targeting a spring 2017 window on PS4 and Xbox One. Before that however, you’ll be able to get a taste of the action in the planned closed beta, although further details have yet to be confirmed.
Said Gazillion: “Lovers of lore can also expect a fantastic tour through famous locations, from the dark streets of Hell’s Kitchen to the mystical realm of Asgard. The nine-chapter story campaign will also find players facing off against some of Marvel’s most infamous Super Villains, including Doctor Doom and the trickster god Loki. But finishing the story is really just the beginning! Like many great online games, we think Marvel Heroes Omega is best played with others – and players can look forward to joining forces with fellow Super Heroes in the game’s many Headquarter areas to tackle the game’s most challenging end-game content.”
In other Marvel-related news, it has been recently suggested that the hotly anticipated Kingdom Hearts 3 may feature its own Marvel universe for players to explore.
