Marvel is reportedly “painfully aware” that its gamers are failing to reach their potential, according to CanWeGetSomeToast, a well-known comic book scooper.
While it’s unfair to label them as outright flops, the likes of Marvel’s Avengers, Guardians of the Galaxy, and Marvel’s Midnight Suns failed to set tills alight, with Marvel’s Avengers having been delisted from storefronts just three years after launch. As such, Marvel is looking to address the problem with several high-profile releases.
Marvel is PAINFULLY aware of how their video games division hasn’t been reaching its potential overall. There have been whispers of an internal shift for Marvel to focus on games. The new EA Black Panther and Iron Man games will be the start of a push for something BIG.
Iron Man is currently in development at EA Motive while Cliffhanger Games, a brand new studio under the EA banner, is working on the singe-player Black Panther video game. Meanwhile, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is coming out on October 20 for the PS5, and it’s probably fair to say that will be nothing short of a huge success.
