Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Includes Fall Damage, But You Can Turn It Off If You Want

Insomniac Games has incorporated fall damage into Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, so you had better be cautious when flinging yourself around New York City as Peter Parker or Miles Morales. If that doesn’t sound much then, then you’ll be pleased to know you can turn it off.

The inclusion of fall damage was spotted by YouTuber Blitzwinger, and obviously differs from the game’s predecessors as Parker and Morales were able to fall from massive height without so much as a scratch on them. This time however, players had better be more careful when web-swinging their way through the city, although as mentioned, fall damage can be turned off at the game’s menu.

As previously reported, players man encounter the second Spider-Man while swinging through New York City, who may be solving a crime or simply doing whatever a Spider-Man does. Ahem. Elsewhere, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will also really flex its PS5-sized muscles, offering ray-tracing support at any frame rate and also taking advantage of 120Hz displays.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will be wall-crawling its way onto PS5 on October 20, 2023.
