Insomniac Games‘ Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 has been put under the microscope by the folks at Digital Foundry, and the results are impressive to say the least. In fact, the tech wizards have declared that the PS5 superhero sequel boasts the finest ray-tracing effects on a home console.
A snippet of a DF breakdown on Marvel’s Spider-Man 2’s visual effects on Twitter makes it clear that the game is flexing some mighty muscles in the RT department:
For my money it’s the best example of ray-traced reflections in an open-world console game as of 2023. Nothing else comes close.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 features two playable characters in the form of Peter Parker and Miles Morales, who team up to take down a group of super villains including Kraven the Hunter, Lizard, and Venom.
