The claim was spotted by Tech4Gamers and made during a regulatory filling published by the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) this week, which is currently investigating Microsoft’s proposed acquisition of Activision Blizzard. In it, Microsoft outlines a number of exclusives coming to PS5:
PlayStation also has a spate of first- and third-party exclusive titles lined up for launch in 2023, including Spider-Man 2, Wolverine, Horizon, Final Fantasy XVI and Forspoken.
Sony and Insomniac Games haven’t announced any release window for Marvel’s Wolverine yet, with the game having been announced last year as being very early in production. Therefore it’s possible that Microsoft’s claims were simply made in error.
Meanwhile, Insomniac’s other major superhero title, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, is slated for release in 2023 for PS5. In fact, the company only this week reiterated that the game is still on track to launch next year.
