Mass Effect voice actor Robin Sachs dies

British actor Robin Sachs has passed away aged 61.

The London-born actor’s sudden passing was announced on his official website earlier today.

"It is with great sadness that we have to announce the sudden and unexpected passing of Robin Sachs,” the site reads.

"Please join us in raising a glass to Robin – goodbye, dear friend. Thank you for all the laughter and the cookies. We will miss you so very much."

The actor was best known to gamers as the voice of Mass Effect’s Zaeed Massani, and to wider audiences as Ethan Rayne in the cult TV series Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

In addition, Sachs provided voice overs for a number of BioWare titles such as Dragon Age: Origins and Knights of the Old Republic. He can also be heard in the CG flick Resident Evil: Damnation and the videogame Buffy: Chaos Bleeds.
