Matsuyama: 3D, motion-controls yet to be decided for MGS: Rising

Speaking during an interview with Game Informer, Shigenobu Matsuyama, the producer of Metal Gear Solid: Rising, has said that it has yet to be decided whether or not the ‘Lightning Bolt Action’ romp will include 3D or motion-control support.

A 3D trailer of the game was shown at the Tokyo Game Show back in September, though Matsuyama was quick to point out that this was merely for “referential” purposes, and should not be taken as outright confirmation of the tech’s inclusion in the game.

“3D is not officially confirmed yet,” he said.

“What we showed at TGS was just a referential presentation. We have not officially confirmed if we will support motion control either, as it is very difficult to manage such precise accuracy of action and speed that MGS Rising’s controls will require.”

“Both 3D and motion control features are worth considering, though.”

Elsewhere, he indicated that the developers plan to divulge a heap of info regarding the game’s story the next time we catch a glimpse of the hack ‘n slash title in action, though it remains unknown when exactly this will be.

Not wanting to disappoint however, Matsuyama teased one final tidbit – Rising’s stealth component will be known as “Hunting Stealth.”

Metal Gear Solid: Rising is in development for PS3, PC and Xbox 360 platforms. A release date has yet to be announced.
