The Max Payne 1 & 2 Remakes will enter full production no later than the second quarter of 2024, Remedy Games announced during its quarter one investor call presentation.
For the record this means we can expect production to be in full swing by the end of the summer period, although it does mean that the games are still some way off at this point. Previously, Remedy revealed that the Max Payne 1 & 2 Remakes have a similar budget to Alan Wake 2, with the games having recently ‘increased development pace‘ alongside Control 2.

Remedy has been pretty consistent in offering incremental updates on the Max Payne 1 & 2 Remakes. Back in October 2023 for example, the studio revealed that the projects had entered the production readiness stage, having ‘gained clarity on the style and scope of the game.’
Max Payne fans were given sad news just before Christmas 2023 however, when it was confirmed that James McCaffrey, the voice actor behind the titular character, had passed away from cancer aged 65.
The Max Payne 1 & 2 Remakes have yet to attract a release date, but are expected to launch for PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S.
