Mega Man Legacy Collection announced for PS4

Capcom has today announced that the Mega Man Legacy Collection is scheduled to release on PS4 at some point later this summer.

The Legacy Collection consists of Mega Man 1 through to 6, an art asset ‘museum’, and a challenge mode, all in sumptuous 1080p and priced at $14.99.

The collection’s announcement could be construed as a ploy to ride on the back of the hype generated by Mighty No. 9, the new spiritual successor to the Mega Man series, which is being developed by Keiji Inafune, the man best known as the illustrator and co-designer of Mega Man himself.

Either way, it’s nice to see Capcom giving gamers an opportunity to play one of the most important series in gaming antiquity on current-generation consoles, even if it’s just another standard enough re-release.
