Metal Gear Rising 2 teaser shot down by Kojima Productions

Kojima Productions has dismissed reports that a teaser for Metal Gear Rising 2 was shown off at the Taipei Game Show over the weekend.

Reports materialized on Friday night that a follow-up to 2013’s acclaimed hack-’n-slash title was in the works, when it seemed the game’s logo flashed up during an on-screen countdown.

However, according to Geoff Keighley, whatever the teaser was, it did not pertain to Metal Gear Rising 2.

Ken-ichiro Imaizumi from Kojima Productions added on Twitter that he wasn’t even sure what the teaser referred to, only that it came from Sony Computer Entertainment (SCE).

Despite this, fans on Twitter are still adamant that the Metal Gear developer is secretly working on the project (or to be more accurate, saying that they’re trolling their fans), and the studio isn’t exactly shy about applying unconventional means when announcing a new game—just look at Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain.

Still, for now, it appears that Metal Gear Rising 2’s status is up in the air. Be sure to leave your thoughts in the comments section below.
