The official Japanese Metal Gear X account has confirmed that Cross-Play is not supported for Metal Gear Solid Delta Snake Eater‘s online component, Fox Hunt.
A translation of the post reads “cross-play between different platforms will not be supported.”
Fox Hunt is seen as an evolution of Metal Gear Online, which was featured in Metal Gear Solid 3 Snake Eater Subsistence and later arrived alongside Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots. Based around two key elements of the base game — camouflage and survival — Fox Hunt ‘utilises the fundamentals of one of the popular game rules for Metal Gear Online and combines it with the stealth elements the franchise is known for, offering a tense showdown that takes hide-and-seek to a new level.

Metal Gear Solid Delta Snake Eater launches later this month for PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S. The game is a ground-up remake of the original 2004 Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, utilising the same voice recordings but completely overhauling its character models and environments, while offering options for modernised controls and a new viewpoint that mimics 2015’s Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain.
While Snake Eater was the mastermind of Hideo Kojima, the game designer recently stated that he won’t be playing the remake.
