A Metal Gear Solid Remake Is On Deck After Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater

Konami was practically dormant for years, resting on the laurels of its best franchises and expanding them through means beyond games.

Now, to the delight of many fans, Konami is reinvigorating its efforts to develop new games and remakes for the likes of Silent Hill and Metal Gear Solid.

A new report from Areajugones (spotted by Dexerto and machine translated) reveals that a remake for the original Metal Gear Solid is in early pre-production, and will be the new focus once Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater is complete and in the wild.

It’ll be a PS5 game and not a PS4 game, according to the report, but there aren’t any details on what studio will be working on the remake, though it’s not too far a jump to suspect that it could be another collaborative effort between Virtuos and Konami, who’re currently working on Snake Eater.

It would also explain why a remake of the first game will only become a bigger focus once the Snake Eater remake is out, which looks to be a long ways away itself.

In any case, it’s exciting for fans to see Konami putting more of a focus on these franchises, hopefully we’ll even one day get a new series entry.
