Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain co-op rumored

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain may include some form of co-op functionality, according to concept video by Konami’s Kyle Cooper.

Cooper is responsible for designing The Phantom Pain’s logo and iDroid GUI, and appears to confirm co-op in this footage, when paused between 0.15 and 0.16 seconds.

If you stop it at this exact mark, you should be able to make out the words ‘Co-op Player’ alongside Helicopter and Buddy.

Series mastermind Hideo Kojima hasn’t officially confirmed co-op play for The Phantom Pain, though we already know that the stealth-action title will allow gamers to explore a friend’s Mother Base, exchange items, and even invade another player’s stronghold.

Could co-op be the next evolution for the venerable stealth franchise? We’ll have to wait and see. The Phantom Pain is due out some time in 2015 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, PC, Xbox One, and Xbox 360.
