Despite confirming the contrary just last month, it’s today been confirmed that the upcoming Metal Gear Survive’s release date has been pushed back to early 2018.

Speaking with reps from Konami at this year’s E3, gaming website Polygon confirmed the news that the game would not make its original release window of late 2017 and instead will launch in early 2018 due to the team requiring extra time to get the game up to snuff.

The first Metal Gear game following Hideo Kojima’s much-publicized departure from Konami, Metal Gear Survive is a survival action game touting a fleshed-out single-player experience as well as intense cooperative multiplayer mode where players have to work together and use the series’ patented stealth mechanics to survive hoards of zombie-like creatures in an alternate Metal Gear universe.
