Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 PSVR 2 Support Coming Next Week With Sim Update 5

Asobo Studios has announced that PSVR 2 support for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 will be coming with the game’s Sim 5 Update, which is due next week.

The Sim Update 5 is planned to introduce the first batch of third-party combat for the PS5 Marketplace. However, rather than a full Marketplace arriving in one swoop, add-ons are required to pass Sony’s platform and performance requirements, including technical evaluation on PS5 hardware. In addition, the team revealed that there are 2-3 “must-fix” bugs lingering before the final version of Sim Update 5 is shipped to players, but remain “cautiously optimistic” that these issues can be resolved in time.

In addition to PSVR2 support, 3rd-Party products being added to the PlayStation Marketplace, and dozens of other bug fixes and improvements, SU5 will also introduce a new weather radar including tilt functionality. Developed by Working Title, this feature has been long-requested by simmers, and we’re exciting to deliver it to you soon!

Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 was released for PS5 in December 2025. The head of the franchise, Jorg Nuemann, admitted last year during an interview with XDA that Xbox bosses were originally against the idea of bringing the game to the PS5. Sony however expressed interest in the franchise coming to PS5, and when Microsoft adopted a multiformat release plan a few years back, plans were put in place to bring Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 to the system.
