Monolith and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment have released the official Middle-earth Shadow of War launch trailer for your viewing pleasure.
The highly anticipated action-RPG title, which takes place between the events of The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings, is now available for PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One. The game was initially due to ship in August before being delayed.

Middle-earth Shadow of War follows the events of its predecessor, and sees Talion continuing his campaign against the Dark Lord Sauron.
This time around, Monolith has expanded many key elements of the game, including the Nemesis system and game world. Now, Talion has the ability to command entire Orc armies in his bid to conquer the Land of Shadow.
One of the key expansions for the game will honor a deceased member of Monolith, which can be seen in the free DLC, Forthog.
Shadow of War hasn’t been without its controversy, however. Monolith was forced to defend its decision to include microtransactions via loot boxes, a feature that was heavily criticised by gamers.
“Yeah, in the game you earn resources at a regular pace and the systems are tuned to that so you don’t need another option. At the same time, it’s there as a player choice. It’s there, from my perspective, for people who are protective of their spare time and scared when a massive game comes along that they’re not getting to see the full experience,” said Monolith’s Bob Roberts.
