MindsEye Negative Feedback Is The Result Of People Being Paid To ‘Trash The Game,’ Says Build A Rocket Boy Co-CEO

Build A Rocket Boy co-CEO Mark Gerhard has suggested that the negative feedback received for MindsEye is the result of a paid “concerted effort” against the developer ahead of the game’s release

MindsEye is the brainchild of Leslie Benzies, who previously served at Rockstar Games as a producer on the hugely successful Grand Theft Auto franchise, and received a new trailer yesterday. However, since then word has spread on social media criticising MindsEye for being a “broken mess, filled with bugs.”

On the game’s Discord server, Gerhard was asked on his opinion to the notion that “all of the people who reacted negatively were financed by someone,” which him responding “100 percent.” One user added that this response was unexpected, Gerhard hit back with, “not wild when it’s true.”

I just said that there is a concerted effort by some people that don’t want to see Leslie or Build A Rocket Boy to be successful that are making a concerted effort to trash the game and the studio. It’s pretty easy to see the bots and the repeated replies to any content that we put out.

MindsEye is scheduled for release on June 10, 2025 for PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S.
