Monster Hunter Wilds Major Expansion Set To Be Announced in Summer 2026

Monster Hunter series producer Ryozo Tsujimoto has revealed during an anniversary video this week that Capcom will unveil a major expansion for Monster Hunter Wilds this summer, which will be a “similar” offering to the Iceborne DLC from Monster Hunter World.

We are currently at work on a large-scale expansion similar to Monster Hunter World: Iceborne and Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak for Monster Hunter Wilds. We plan to share more information with you this summer, so please look forward to it.

Beyond this, Monster Hunter Wilds is also receiving update V.1.041 on February 18, which will kick off a series of events to mark the game’s first anniversary. For starters, past seasonal events will begin on a weekly rotation, as detail below:

  • Blossomdance: February 18th – February 25th
  • Flamefete: February 25 – March 4
  • Dreamspell: March 4 – March 12
  • Lumenhymn: March 12 – March 19

In addition, a collaboration with Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection will allow players to obtain a one-of-a-kind Royal Palico Rudy Costume and special Monstie-themed pendants. New event quests will also continue to roll out for Monster Hunter Wilds, including unique quests where you can get your hands on special pendants, the armor sets Gala Suit α and Felyne Star α.

Monster Hunter Wilds was released on February 28, 2025 for PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S. You can read our full review of the game here.
